Georgian Conservatory St Austell – LivinRoof – Case Study
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Georgian Conservatory St Austell – LivinRoof
Georgian Conservatory – More often referred to as an Edwardian Conservatory.
Mr & Mrs Truscott wanted to turn their conservatory into a bright, comfortable room they could enjoy in every season. After visiting our showroom in Saltash and booking a home design consultation, they chose to replace their ageing glazed roof with the fully insulated Ultraframe LivinRoof. The result is a lighter, more temperate space with year‑round usability and a fresh, modern look.
The Challenge
- A traditional glazed roof that left the space too cold in winter and too warm in summer.
- Outdated aesthetics that didn’t complement the rest of the home.
- A desire to create an inviting, everyday living area rather than a room used only in fair weather.
Goals
- Improve thermal comfort for genuine all‑year use.
- Increase natural light without the glare and heat build‑up of a fully glazed roof.
- Refresh the look and add value to the home with a quality, long‑lasting solution.
The Solution
Following the consultation and design process, the Truscotts selected the Ultraframe LivinRoof — a hybrid roofing system that combines super‑insulated solid panels with optional glazed panels. This allows light to be directed where it’s needed most while maintaining excellent insulation across the rest of the roof.
Key features specified:
- Super‑insulated roof panels for improved thermal performance.
- Strategically positioned glazed panels to brighten key areas and maintain a light, open feel.
- Clean, contemporary detailing to modernise the conservatory.
Installation
Our team managed the full replacement process from survey to sign‑off. The old glazed roof was removed and the new LivinRoof installed with minimal disruption. Finishing details were carefully completed to ensure a neat, integrated appearance that ties in with the existing frames and house façade.
Results
- Year‑round comfort: Noticeably warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
- Lighter, brighter space: Glazed panels placed to maximise natural light where it’s most beneficial.
- Modernised aesthetics: A fresh look that complements the home and elevates the overall feel of the conservatory.
- Greater usability: The conservatory now functions as a genuine everyday living space.
“The LivinRoof has completely changed how we use the room — it’s comfortable whatever the weather and feels so much brighter.”
— Mr & Mrs Truscott
