Grey Aluminium Orangery – Case Study
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Grey Aluminium Orangery – Case Study
Grey Aluminium Orangery – Miss Foss, from North Devon, wanted a modern orangery that was warm in winter, cool in summer, and had flexible openings. Even though she lived far from our base in South Devon, she wanted a company with experience and good value.
The Challenge
-
Miss Foss wanted a large orangery with big windows and strong aluminium frames.
-
The site needed a lot of groundwork, including digging a soak away through clay, stone, and soil.
-
Supply delays during Covid slowed the schedule.
-
She changed her plans after our first meeting, so we needed to adjust the design without losing quality.
What We Did
-
We built a Durabase + steel foundation to make the structure strong and stable.
-
We installed full aluminium frames with tilt-and-turn windows and bi-folding doors.
-
We added an internal pelmet to give natural shade and extra insulation.
-
We raised the internal lintel so she could have a bigger window into the utilities room.
-
We kept in touch with Miss Foss to make sure we understood her updated requirements.
-
Our team handled electrical work, plastering, and project management to keep everything on track.
How We Built It
-
Our team dug the soak away in hot and tough conditions.
-
We worked with suppliers to get the right roof parts and solved delays quickly.
-
Everyone on the team worked efficiently, politely, and professionally.
-
Project managers visited often to check progress and get Miss Foss’s feedback.
The Result
-
Miss Foss got a modern, high-quality orangery exactly how she wanted it.
-
We overcame challenges with distance and supply delays without affecting quality.
-
Miss Foss praised the team for being professional, friendly, and skilled.
-
We also helped with post-installation queries, keeping her satisfied.
Miss Foss says:
“I felt confident Realistic would deliver exactly what I wanted at a better price than other companies. The team were polite and professional. I would highly recommend Realistic.”
