Lean-To Tiled Roof Conservatory for Mr & Mrs Reardon
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Here at Realistic Home Improvements, we were thrilled to help Mr. and Mrs. Reardon transform their outdoor area with a chic and practical Lean-To tiled roof conservatory. Nestled in a peaceful residential neighborhood, their home boasts a spacious garden and an existing patio layout, making it the perfect candidate for a beautiful living extension.
Initial Consultation and Design Brief
During our first meeting, the Reardons shared their vision for a bright, airy space that would seamlessly connect their indoor and outdoor living areas, all while being functional throughout the year. They were particularly interested in our Ultraroof system, which beautifully combines the sophistication of a tiled roof with the insulation needed for modern comfort. We decided on a Lean-To style that would complement the back of their home, ensuring a harmonious architectural fit.
Construction and Materials
The conservatory was designed to stretch across the width of the rear elevation, aligning perfectly with the garden layout. As you can see in the attached photos, the back wall features a clean white render, beautifully paired with a charcoal slate-effect Ultraroof. This not only matches the main house roof but also promises durability and weather resistance with minimal upkeep.
We installed full-height bi-folding doors at the front, providing unobstructed views and allowing maximum light when opened. These doors lead out to a newly renovated patio area, creating a smooth transition from the inside to the garden. The roof is pitched to accommodate the existing first-floor windows and is finished internally with a plastered vaulted ceiling and integrated lighting.
Interior Integration
Inside, the Reardons chose to create a cozy dining area, complete with classic furnishings that blend traditional and modern styles. The vaulted ceiling of the conservatory gives it a spacious, airy ambiance, while the Ultraroof ensures excellent thermal performance. This means the space stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making it usable far beyond what a standard glass roof could offer.
Client Feedback
Mr. and Mrs. Reardon couldn’t be happier with the final outcome! They raved about the quality of the conservatory and how beautifully it fits in with their home. What really stood out to them was the speed and efficiency of the build process, which caused hardly any disruption to their daily routine. Now, they relish their new space, using it as a cozy reading nook, a dining area, and a lively spot for family gatherings.
