Residence Windows R9 – Mrs. Evans approached us to replace the windows and doors in her Hannafore home. Since her property falls within a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) area, planning permission was required. The NDP ensures that modern upgrades remain sympathetic to the town’s historic character, particularly along the coastline and harbourside.

Solution

The project included the replacement of her large bay window, which featured:

• Residence R9 French Doors

• Residence  R9 back door

• Astragal Georgian bars to replicate the original timber window design

All windows and doors were finished with a flush sash, creating the appearance of traditional timber while offering the benefits of modern PVCu, including:

• Low maintenance

• Enhanced energy efficiency

• Improved security

This approach preserved the heritage style of Mrs. Evans’ home while incorporating modern performance and convenience.

Outcome

With planning permission approved and installation complete, Mrs. Evans’ home now harmonizes with the historic surroundings of Hannafore, Looe, Cornwall.  The Residence R9 windows and doors with Astragal Georgian bars provide a durable, energy-efficient, and secure solution that maintains the traditional charm of her property.
